Death Cab For Cutie成立于1997年，在非主流的独立厂牌Barsuk发行了三张专辑,2004年与Atlantic唱片签约。一年后发行了加入主流唱片公司的第一章专辑《Plans》，也就是Grammy提名的《I Will Follow You Into the Dark》所在专辑，新专辑发行首周便空降全美专辑榜第四名，滚石杂志更盛赞”俏妞的死亡计程车可能成为自9O年代Grunge乐风以来最重要的西雅图乐团”，AMG音乐网站也给予四颗星的高评价。整张专辑的11首歌首首都是充满甜蜜与酸苦的情诗。
